The First Girl Group of La Face jumps on the scene!

They stand alone, a trio of female pioneers who have demonstrated an uncanny ability to bridge the gap between rap, hip-hop, pop and soul.  No followers of fashion, but leaders of their generation who push the envelope in music, image and style. Out front, no strangers to controversy, the three young women who compose the best-selling female group in music history are always looking ahead, creating a new level of growth and accomplishment. With the release of their third album FanMail, T-Boz, Left Eye and Chilli use the cutting edge approach that has taken TLC to international recognition.
Before TLC started, Left Eye was in Atlanta, T-Boz was in Atlanta, and Chilli was a dancer for the late duo, Damian Dame.  TLC first consisted of Boz, QT, and Crystal.  When they auditioned for La Face records, Crystal was kicked out.  She was later replaced with Chilli.  The group landed on the scene with the debut album: Oooohhhh on the TLC tip.  The album spawned singles such as: Ain't 2 proud 2 beg, hat 2 da back, what about your friends, and baby baby baby.  The album went 4 times platinum.  Two years later, the girls matured.  With the release of crazysexycool, TLC mania ignited.  The legendary CD went 11 times platinum and spawned singles: Creep, Kick your game, waterfalls, red light special, and diggin on you.  In the same year, Left Eye burnt football quarterback Andre Rison's house to the ground.  Two years later, the group went bankrupt.  They were going through tough times until it happened.  TLC dropped the album "Fan Mail" in 1999 with the legendary single: No scrubs.  Left Eye claimed that she would not be behind the group 100%.  She then proposed: The challenge.  Her and her two groupmembers would make 3 seperate solo cd's and see which one would sell the best.  About two years later, Left eye was said to have recorded 25 songs for her solo CD.  On April 25, 2002, Tragedy struck.  Left Eye was killed in a car accident in Honduras.  She was 30 years old.  T-boz and Chilli went on as a duo and finished recording 3D.
